What is AGAPE?
AGAPE is a New Testament Greek word that means sacrificial love. In the Bible AGAPE defines God (1 John 4:8) and AGAPE identifies followers of Jesus (John 13:35). The word AGAPE stands at the center of the faith and practice of First Baptist Cornelia.
What We Believe
First Baptist Cornelia adheres to the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.
What Kind of Baptists are we?
First Baptist Cornelia stands in a long tradition of free and faithful Baptists. In the Free Church tradition, we determine our own identity and vision choosing to partner with other Baptists to accomplish God’s mission. Our two key Baptist partners are the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Southern Baptist Convention. In Georgia we partner with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia and the Georgia Baptist Convention. Locally, we partner with the Habersham Baptist Association and the other Christian churches in Cornelia for both mission, worship and fellowship opportunities. In partnership tradition, we do not define our partners and neither do they define us.
