UNITED MISSIONS OFFERING AND MISSION GRANTS
For those of us who call First Baptist Cornelia home, we believe stewardship is a part of spiritual formation and commitment to sacred partnerships. While our stewardship takes many forms, giving financially through our church is the primary way for us to participate with God in mission to Cornelia and the world.
First Baptist Cornelia invites our sacred partners to financially support two specific offerings:
Ministry Tithe Offering
The tithe ministry offering supports the budget for the entire work of the church: missions, worship, discipleship, ministries, personnel, maintenance and facilities. We annually vote on this budget to guide our spending each year. We invite all sacred partners to give generously to this offering monthly.
Unified Mission Offering
The Unified Mission Offering is a single, all year, above-tithe mission offering that supports ALL of the mission endeavors and denominational offerings of First Baptist Cornelia. Rather than collecting a variety of different mission offering throughout the year, we invite our sacred partners to give a monthly above tithe offering to invest in Kingdom Advancement.
Ways We Give
This is the choice for people who want to make their giving a tangible part of their worship on Sunday. Each year sacred partners receive a box of offering envelopes. Each box contains a weekly Ministry Tithe Offering Envelope and a monthly Unified Missions Offering envelope. These envelopes can also be mailed to homes if requested. Envelopes can also be found in the pew racks in the sanctuary. The envelopes can be used for cash, check or money order. If you need assistance with offering envelopes, please contact Sheila Thomason, Financial Ministry Assistant via email (email@example.com) or phone (706.778.4412)
Throughout the website you will see a link to our online giving page. The steps are easy to follow. There are several reasons to consider offering your gifts online:
• Consistency. When we are away from home it’s easy to neglect our giving. Giving online allows us to give even when we are far from home.
• Convenience. From your computer or phone you can give anytime, anywhere.
• Helping the church. Online giving helps the finance office to simplify accounting and expedite your gift.
Also, many financial institutions offer free automatic “bill pay” service. With this feature, you authorize your bank or credit union to provide recurring payments to the recipients you indicate. This is even more convenient for you and it helps the church continue ministry even when you are away on business or vacation
