Cornelia First Baptist Church Youth Ministry Vision Statement: We exist to point students to Jesus

How does Cornelia First Baptist Church Student Ministry point students to Jesus?

Love God, Serve Others, and Tell the world

Key Verses: Great Commission and Great Commandment

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment And the second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-38).

Follow the Five-Fold Ministry

Worshipping God

Telling others about Jesus

Growing in our relationship with Jesus

Serving others

Connecting with friends

Our philosophy of youth ministry is built around 3 things:

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come!”  We want all students to have a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ through all that we do here.

2 Timothy 2:22 –“ Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”  The middle and high school years are filled with critical life choices.  We want to help students make Biblically based choices during this important time in their lives, for the rest of their lives.

Philippians 1:3 –  I thank my God every time I remember you.”  We want a students time in our ministry to provide them with wonderful and positive life memories.

These 3 guiding principles inform and impact all that we do and teach in the Youth Ministry at First Baptist Cornelia.

Sunday mornings 9:45 – Bible Study  on the 3rd floor of the Family Ministry Center (THE WELL) followed by worship at 10:55 am.

Wednesday evenings 6:00 – 7:30 pm –  We have a time of worship and teaching in THE WELL (3rd Floor Family Ministry Center).  Part of this time includes a time to break into smaller groups, usually from 7:00 – 7:30 pm to discuss what has been taught and to share prayer needs with each other. During the Fall and Winter of 2018 and 2019 we will hear each week from an older member of our FBC Family about their faith journey so that our youth will know them better and they will know our students better as well.
